Ask Men recently announced their 99 most desirable women for 2011 and Anne Hathaway made the list at number 9, jumping 52 spots since last year! She is also set to feature on the cover of Vanity Fair’s annual Hollywood issue with Oscar co-host James Franco in the coming issue.

A New York native, Hathaway has been involved in the performing arts since high school; awarded a Paper Mill Playhouse Rising Star Award for her role as Winnifred in Once Upon a Mattress, she continued to appear in plays such as Jane Eyre and Gigi. Aside from being trained as an actress, Hathaway performed as a Soprano with the All Eastern U.S. High School Honours Chorus at Carnegie Hall for a year. However it took her just two more years to break into Hollywood!

Her first major film role came in 2001 at the age of eighteen. We all remember her endearing role as Mia Thermopolis in “The Princess Diaries” and it’s sequel. In the same year as the release of “The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement” she delighted audiences again in “Ella Enchanted” and two years later in “The Devil Wears Prada.” More recently she’s appeared in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” as the dethroned White Queen.

Staring as Catwoman in the superhero film, “The Dark Knight Rises”, we’re interested in seeing where she takes the role as, whether you’re a fan of the DC comics or just staring at Christian Bale, this new film is sure to be a packed full of the action and suspense we saw in “The Dark Knight.”

She also has a film scheduled to premiere in September later this year, “One Day”, the story of two lovers who revisit each other one day a year on the anniversary of their one night stand at university.
