Burberry boy and My Week With Marilyn star Eddie Redmayne is once again on our radar. The actor/model is one of five final nominees up for Orange’s 2012 BAFTA Rising Star Award, which celebrates emerging acting talent.

Eddie has had quite a run in theatre, television, and films and is quickly becoming a household name. If you don’t recognise him from the big screen, you might have seen his face in the S/S 2012 Burberry campaign or the pages of American Vogue.

The 30-year-old actor, born Edward John David Redmayne, attended Eton College and continued his studies in History of Art at Trinity College, Cambridge.

An alumnus from the National Youth Music Theatre, circa 1998, Redmayne made his professional debut for Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Twelfth Night in 2002 and in 2005 won the award for Best Newcomer at the Critics’ Circle Theatre Awards.

His more notable screen credits are “Like Minds” and Sundance Film Festival hit, “The Yellow Handkerchief”, where he shared a hot and sweaty scene with Kristen Stewart.

Despite being color blind, Redmayne won the 2010 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Play and 2010 Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role for his portrayal of painter Mark Rothko’s, Alfred Molina, assistant in Red.

As if modeling and acting isn’t enough to make us swoon, Redmayne will take on singing in his upcoming role as Marius in the 2012 musical film of Les Misérables. Redmayne is also set to star in the BBC adaptation of Sebastian Faulks’ novel, Birdsong.
