Henry Hopper

Henry Hopper

If his name sounds familiar to you, it’s probably because he is the son of the late great actor, Dennis Hopper, who passed only just last year. However, this 20-year-old California native newbie is definitely making a name for himself, landing the lead role in Gus Van Sant’s (Good Will Hunting) newest film, Restless (watch the trailer here), where he plays opposite the talented beauty, Mia Wasikowska.

His character, Enoch Brae, is quite the eccentric and enjoys attending strangers’ funerals on a regular basis. Henry may be a bit of a free-spirit as well, confessing his love for skinny-dipping to Interview magazine recently, saying that he enjoyed these “nice sunbaths” while he was studying sculpture and painting at CalArts, or the California Institute of the Arts.

However, after a year at artschool, he realised he didn’t like it much so he moved to Berlin to make films. This was Henry returning to his roots, since he began taking acting classes at 14-years-old and was “discovered” by an agent two years later after the agent saw him in a play.

So what’s up next for this up-and-coming star? Who knows! After Restless it’s unclear, however a starring role in a Gus Van Sant movie may be just what Henry Hopper needs to become a household Hollywood name. Stay tuned!
