Jessica Chastain is becoming the buzz of Hollywood recently and we’re not the only one’s who have noticed!

The 30-year-old actress has not only starred alongside heavyweights such as Al Pacino, Helen Mirren, Ralph Fiennes, Sean Penn and Brad Pitt, but she was also recently shot for ELLE magazine in a feature ‘Watch Out, World’, devoted to Hollywood’s best and brightest upcoming talents… so, watch out, world, Jessica is here to stay!

Jessica Chastain is an American television and TV actress who was born on March 29, 1981. She attended The Juilliard School in New York City, where she was an active participant in the drama department and starred in several theatrical productions and student film projects.

Her first professional role was for a TV movie adaption of Dark Shadows in 2004. She later appeared in such television series such as ER, Veronica Mars, Close to Home, and Law and Order: Trial By Jury. Her film debut was back in 2008 where she had a leading role in Jolene, for which she received the Seattle International Film Festival Award for Best Actress.

What makes Jessica’s story refreshing is the prestige galore she has, without the drag of being famous – yet.

“It’s not about fame, it’s not about money,” Jessica said when she was asked about what she looks for a role in a recent interview.

It’s about who do I get to work with, and who do I get to learn from.”

For her audition for Tree of Life (where she stars alongside Sean Penn and Brad Pitt), Jessica was asked, first, to deliver a long monologue from the section of the film dealing with grief. She then had to render everything in that speech a second time, but without uttering a word. When Malick saw the results he knew he had his choice of actress to play the mother in his film. Later, Jessica was told to look at paintings of the Madonna in New York’s Metropolitan Museum and watch a lot of Lauren Bacall movies, to see how slowly and deliberately women spoke in a more patient and slower era than our own.

Her ethereal beauty, acting experience and, especially, her versatility made her a definite watch this season. In the meantime, we are all in for a treat. Jessica has at least five new movies releasing in 2011, including The Debt by John Madden, The Tree of Life by Terrence Malick, the psychological thriller The Fields, Take Shelter, and The Help.
