A Swedish actress in the lead of the titles of, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” “The Girl Who Played with Fire,” and “The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets’ Nest,” Noomi Rapace has been on the high profile list in Denmark since 2007 when she won two awards for Best Actress in major Danish film awards. She was nominated for several awards for her performance in, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo,” and won just as many. Her popular role in the “Millennium“ Swedish series catapulted her amongst the stars and earned her the Next Breakthrough Talent award.

Born in Sweden to her mother, a Swedish actress, and her father who was a Spanish singer, Rapace began acting at the age of seven with her non-speaking part in an Icelandic film. At the age of 15 she left home to begin at theatre school and since has been a dedicated actress and is currently contemplating moving to America while pursuing an international career as she is to star in the untitled Sherlock Holmes sequel as Sim. Scheduled to release December of this year, the film brings back Robert Downey Junior, Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams to the set who praise Rapace for her work as Sim, a gypsy.

Really throwing herself into the role, Rapace says she is doing quite a bit of research and visiting both Paris and Transylvania to see how they keep traditions alive and since, “they live pretty close to the way they lived hundreds of years ago,” she wants to make sure her character is as authentic as possible.

Appearing at the BAFTA Awards this last weekend, Rapace has people talking about the gorgeous Givenchy Couture gown wore flawlessly. She totally deserves the attention at the 2011 Elle Style Awards where is sported a very cute mini dress from Burberry.
