Rose Byrne is an Australian actress born on July 24, 1979. She began taking acting classes at age just 8-years-old and joined the Australian Theatre for Young People, later studying at the Atlantic Theatre Company. She made her acting debut in the film ‘Dallas Doll’ at age 13, going on to appear on Australian television shows like ‘Heartbreak High’ and ‘Echo Point’. However throughout her teen years she also appeared in numerous other Australian films and theatre productions.

In 2002, Rose appeared in her first Hollywood film as  Natalie Portman’s handmaiden in ‘Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones’. Over the next few years she acted in multiple big-budget American films, including ‘Troy’ with Brad Pitt, Sofia Copolla’s ‘Marie Antoinette’, and ’28 Weeks Later’. In 2007, she landed the lead role on the FX drama series ‘Damages’, which is now in its fourth season.

Rose became a household name with her role in the comedy ‘Get Him to the Greek’ with Russell Brand and Jonah Hill in 2010. She played Brand’s character’s on / off girlfriend Jackie Q, a scandalous, self-centered pop star. Recently however she’s probably best know for playing Moira MacTaggert in X Men: First Class alongside Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy.

Rose now stars alongside fellow female comediennes Kristen Wiig and Maya Rudolph in ‘Bridesmaids’ which is in cinemas now.

Rose dated Australian writer / director Brendan Cowell for six years. They ended their relationship in January 2010.
