He’s been a heartthrob in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. He’s been John Lennon in Nowhere Boy. He’s been a teenage super-hero in Kick-Ass. And he’s been many other people in television shows and films, such as The Illusionist. Now Aaron Johnson has been nominated for a 2011 BAFTA Orange Rising Star Award, which doesn’t surprise us one bit.
Born 13 June 1990, the 20-year-old English actor started acting at age six, progressing from theatre to film. His performance in Nowhere Boy did not just earn him a Jameson Empire Award; he also landed a girlfriend and now fiancé – the movie’s 43-year-old director, Sam Taylor-Wood. Though the age difference is a bit unconventional, the two seem to have a great relationship, as they had a daughter, Wylda Rae, on 7 July 2010.
Aaron’s upcoming flicks include Albert Nobbs later this year and Jack the Giant Killer and Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall, both to be released in 2012. He may now be a father, but his career is not slowing down. We’re sure to see the charmingly handsome actor on screen for years to come.
