Three Hollywood stars have been added to the already star-studded cast of ‘8’, a play that centers around the case filed by the American Foundation for Equal Rights to overturn Proposition 8.

Kevin Bacon, Chris Colfer of Glee, and John C. Reilly will complete the impressive ‘8’ cast.

The stars join previously announced castmates Matt Bomer, George Clooney, Jane Lynch, Jamie Lee Curtis, Yeardley Smith, Matthew Morrison, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Martin Sheen, Rory O’Malley and George Takei, among others.

On 7 February, California overturned and ruled unconstitutional Proposition 8, which banned same sex marriage. Black’s play ‘8’ chronicles the historic court case, using transcript from the court battle, and focuses on AFER, the group created to support the four plaintiffs involved in the case.

Clooney and Sheen are set to play David Boies and Ted Olson, the plaintiffs’ lead counsel. Bacon will play the lead attorney for the anti-marriage proponents and Reilly will play the U.S. judge who found Prop 8 unconstitutional.

Other roles include Curtis and Christine Lahti as a lesbian couple and Morrison and Bomer as a gay couple. Lynch will play the prominent opponent of marriage equality.

The play, which is directed by Rob Reiner and written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Dustin Lane Black, previously debuted in September as a one night only benefit reading in Broadway. The event starred Morgan Freeman and raised more than $1 million.

‘8’ will premiere 3 March in Los Angelese at Wilshire Ebell Theatre.
