The Art Of Getting By

The Art Of Getting By

I went to see The Art Of Getting By last week, starring the lovely Freddie Highmore (Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and Emma Roberts (Scream 4).

It’s all about George, a lonely and fatalistic teen who’s made it all the way to his senior year without ever having done a real day of work. Then he meets Sally (Roberts) and finally has a reason to go to school and make friends, even if he’s not ready to admit to himself or to her that he likes her. The school’s principal and art teacher introduce him to an alumni, and successful artist, Dustin, who can help guide George along life’s path, but other distractions start surfacing, and George might not even be able to graduate from high school..

This is quite a sweet film, full of hormonal teen angst and definitely best for a younger audience, go see it in your summer hols for a bit of inspiration kids!

The Art of Getting By is released in UK cinemas 2rd September 2011
