Toronto International Film Festival

Although the Toronto International Film Festival doesn’t even take place until September, we can’t help but get excited after reading up on the various films being featured in this years festival. Especially after my visit last year and I’m lucky enough to be going again, it’s a festival that really celebrates the films more than the red carpets.
The Film Festival, or TIFF as its come to be called, is one of the most celebrated film festival in the world, screening upwards of three hundred films, of all different genres, from over sixty different countries.
With so many films, it’s hard for us to narrow it down to a couple “must-sees”, but all of the new releases seem promising. Boy, a comedic depiction of an eleven-year-old Michael Jackson fan in 1984, Marley, a documentary based on the life of Bob Marley, First Position, a documentary following the everyday struggles of six dancers, and Jaws, a digital restoration of Steven Spielberg’s thriller, are just a few among those scheduled to debut at the festival.
Being that TIFF is one of, if not the most prestigious film festivals of our time, it’s safe to say that Toronto will be overflowing with celebs during the month of September. Among those rumored to attend are Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes, Bill Murray, Rachel McAdams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Susan Sarandon, Tom Hanks, Ben Afflek, and Kristen Bell.
With an impressive line up of both celebs and films, we can’t wait for this one to kick off. Let the count down begin!
I will be there again this year, watching movies and reporting on all the celebs I spot at the parties and best places to go in Toronto. This year sees the opening of Soho House in Toronto so I will be packing dresses and heels. Last year I was partying with Ryan Gosling, George Clooney, Jon Hamm, Emily Blunt, Ewan McGregor…such a hard life, I know!
