Yasmin Paige

Yasmin Paige isn’t a big name in celebrity news now, but in the future, it defintely could be. According to Screen International’s annual list of UK Stars of Tomorrow, Yasmin Paige is a starlet on her way up to the heady heights of stardom.

Really, this shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the 19-year-old English actress broke into her career at the young age of 4-years-old. She was discovered by a children’s modeling agency and appeared in a commercials for McVitie’s biscuits and ASDA’s clothing line.

In 2003, between the ages of 11 and 12, Yasmin played Cosette in Les Misérables, shown at Palace Theatre London. A role for which she was nominated as Best Performer at the Annual Children’s Entertainment Awards.

But perhaps Yasmin’s best-known role has come in recent years as she played Maria Jackson in The Sarah Jane Adventures, a British sci-fi television series. She appeared in every episode of the first season (2007), but her involvement dropped off after the third episode in the second season (2008).

Another one of her better-known appearances was in Ballet Shoes, a 2007 British television movie, in which she played Petrova Fossil, one of the leads alongside Emma Watson.

From 14 July to 14 August, Yasmin can be seen on stage at the Royal Court Theatre as she plays a part in Spur of the Moment, the debut play written by 18-year-old Anya Reiss. Yasmin is also part of the cast for Submarine, Richard Ayoade’s debut feature film that is set to release later this year.
