And Our Best Dressed Goes To…

With Award Season in full swing, we’ve been waiting on tenterhooks to see what each celeb comes out wearing for each of these illustrious events. It can be brutally “make or break”, and no event is more influential than the Oscars… especially on the break side!
So, there I was up till 5am last night, judging the best and worst dressed on the Red Carpet for you lovely lot. See what you think. Do you agree or disagree? What would you have done differently? I’d love to know.
Looked STUNNING last night. Definitely one of my favourites, wearing a beaded Marchesa number with flawless make-up, Bullock looked the part as she collected her award for Best Actress for her role in “The Blind Side”.
Well, Miss Diaz definitely scrubbed up well this year with elegantly styled hair and a very glamourous dress from Oscar de la Renta. We’re used to seeing her hair up or more tousled so I was very pleased to see her turn out so well groomed. Big thumbs up.
The star of “The Time Traveller’s Wife” dominated the red carpet last night with an absolutely stunning blue, Elie Saab Haute Couture Dress.
It was pure understated glamour with beautiful organza and mousseline tailored into a sweetheart neckline and hand-pleated bodice. It fit her perfectly and gave a really nice twist to this season’s pastel hues.
It’s always a bit hit and miss with Meryl. This year however she’s definitely hit the nail on the head with this white Chris March number. She looking positively glowing in her elegant design and the cut suit her perfectly. No hesitation for best-dressed this year… what a relief!
I’m not used to seeing the country singing, daddy’s girl look so grown-up! As disconcerting as this may have been, she did look radiant last night in her Jenny Packman Dress. The “underwear as outerwear” look, teamed with the flesh toned material, pretty much cleaned-up on the on-trend stakes. Well done, now stand up straight and get those shoulders back!
NOW… there are a few stars I feel need a mention in regards to their slightly misguided choices. And the winners are:
Despite the high profile designer, this Givenchy dress really went over-board. The purple colouring was definitely on trend for the Spring but please, we’re weren’t on the red carpet for “Bring It On”… The pompoms could have been left at home.
