British and international fashion industry elite all gathered to attend the British Fashion Awards. The newly remodelled Savoy Hotel played host to some of the most fashionable people around last night (07.12.10) as winners, nominees, presenters and guests came out in their most fashionable best.

One of the most prestigious awards of the night, the BFC Outstanding Achievement in Fashion, went to the late Alexander McQueen for his amazing contribution and inspiration to the global fashion industry throughout his career.

Nicholas Kirkwood received the favourite Accessory Designer award, Mulberry won the favourite Designer Brand award and E. Tautz received favourite Menswear Designer.

This year included two new awards—Digital Innovation which went to Burberry and Special Recognition which Naomi Campbell received for being an influential ambassador for British fashion.  Naomi paid tribute to the late Alex McQueen by strutting down the red carbet in a sheer-skirt McQueen dress.

Lara Stone, received favourite Model kept her red carpet look simple with a white Calvin Klein shift dress and strappy sandals.  Alexa Chung was voted on by the public for the British Style award for being an international ambassador for the UK as a leading creative hub for fashion.  The model and presenter wore a (gorgeous!) blush pink Chanel dress which she paired with spotted tights and platform heels.

Other guests included Victoria Beckham who wore a draped black dress from her own collection, model Daisy Lowe who donned a black Elie Saab gown, Claudia Schiffer who wore a digital print Mary Katrantzou dress paired with black tights and boots and Emma Roberts who wore a cut-away Julien Macdonanald babydoll dress.  British fashion icon Twiggy and designer Daphne Guinness also made an appearance at the event.

We love the British Fashion Awards because it reminds us of why we love the brands we love—and also keeps us on our toes for upcoming ones!
