After a weekend of is-he isn’t-he speculation littering Twitter and the internet, fashion designer Christopher Kane was forced to put paid to the matter, issuing a statement to say that he will not be joining the French fashion house. The misinformation was reported by French media Le Nouvel Observatour who announced on Saturday that Kane would be succeeding Nicolas Ghesquière, who, on November 30th will be leaving the house after 15 years at its helm.
A spokesperson for the Scottish designer told Vogue, “Rumours surrounding Christopher Kane’s appointment as creative director of Balenciaga are unfounded”.
Which simply leaves us with the question, once again, who will be taking over at Balenciaga?
