According to French media, Scottish Designer Christopher Kane has been appointed creative director of Balenciaga, taking over from Nicolas Ghesquière, who, after 15 years heading up the brand announced his departure last month.
After weeks of speculation, and a short list that apparently included Mary Katrantzou, J.W. Anderson, Thomas Tait, as well as New Yorker Joseph Altuzarra and Alexander Wang, it seems that the Scotsman has pipped them all to the post. Although no new has been officially confirmed.
