Conde Nast College of Fashion & Design

Condé Nast, the London-based publisher of British Vogue, Tatler and GQ, is set to open an institute of higher education in central London.

Based in one of the world’s most exciting fashion capitals, the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design is perfect for budding fashionistas.

The school will offer both a ten-week Vogue Fashion Certificate that covers everything from PR to styling, and a yearlong course in which students will gain a fashion foundation in all things Vogue. The former is set to open in January of 2013, while the latter will begin in October of this year.

The college will also offer a range of short evening and weekend classes during July and August for those hoping to return to studies or broaden their existing skills.

Perks to the fashion school include leading edge facilities, membership to the Condé Nast College Association (which provides vital networking opportunities), and exclusive access to experts from the worlds of fashion, style and luxury.

“With access to some of the sharpest and most creative minds shaping the fashion, design and interiors industries today, we aim to educate students to the highest level,” said Susie Forbes, the current editor of Easy Living and former British Vogue deputy editor, who is set to be the principal of the college. “It makes perfect sense for Condé Nast to open its college doors in London, the fashion capital of the world.”

The fashion school is accepting applications now.

Unfortunately, the selective college is limited to a class of 300 pupils, making chances of an acceptance letter about as unlikely as earning the coveted position of Vogue editor. But there’s no doubt the lucky alumni of Condé Nast’s first graduating class are guaranteed a foot in the fashion industry door. I’m expecting a Gossip Girl spin off already on ITV2.

To apply, or for more information, head to the Condé Nast College of Fashion & Design website.
