What does Rome’s Mayor, Gianni Alemanno, and Karl Lagerfeld have in common? Their agreement with Silvia Fendi to restore the ancient city’s fountains, of course. There’s a four-year funding plan in the works and it has been said the Trevi Fountain is first on the restoration list of five.
The famous fountain may be the site of a Fendi fashion show in the future, with the designer brand’s 90th anniversary surfacing in 2015. However, you won’t have to wait that long to get the low down on the philanthropic scheme. A press conference is scheduled to unveil more details today and the project will begin in the spring.
In addition, Lagerfeld could be behind a book of snapshots all about historical Italian fountains. Oh, che bello!
