Karl Lagerfeld wowed fashion critics when he debuted his Chanel Paris-Bombay Pre-Fall 2012 Collection at the Grand Palais in Paris.

The designer brought together Paris couture and Indian dress to create an absolutely stunning collection that included saris and other traditional clothing styles of India adorned with Indian jewels and embellishments, along with the classic Chanel tweed thrown in here and there.

The models’ hair was pulled back to show off the beautiful jewels that dangled from their foreheads, and their eyes were heavily rimmed with dark kohl liner.

Cups of masala chai, which is a spiced Indian tea, French champagne, Indian treats, and Parisian macarons were served at the show to further complement the blending of the two worlds.

The collection doesn’t hit Chanel boutiques until May but check out the full collection on Vogue here.
