It seems the runways across New York, London, Paris and Milan are no longer exclusive to the high-fashion designer set. Just last week Whistles announced that they will be hosting their debut salon show at London Fashion Week while River Island and its collaboration with Barbadian pop singer Rihanna will also be making a hotly-anticipated appearance at the London shows. And now, for the first time in eight years, high street fave, H&M will be holding a fashion show at the grandiose Musee Rodin at Paris Fashion Week.
Initially, it may come as a surprise given that the brand is very much low-price and fast-fashion but then consider the on-point Trend collection, the designer collaborations (Maison Martin Margiela, Versace, Lanvin, Marni), the famous campaign faces (Vanessa Paradis, Gisele Bundchen, Karen Elson) and the celebrity following (we only need mention Beyonce and that rumour) and all of a sudden Paris Fashion Week makes complete sense.
The event, scheduled for Wednesday 27th February, will showcase 25 looks from the label’s autumn winter 2013 collection and we’re pretty sure the high street brand has some surprises up its embellished sleeves. . Fashion weeks just got that little but hotter (and more accessible).
