Get ready for a bigger and even better year of designer/high street collaborations. High street giant Topshop will kick off 2010 with the print master Jonathan Saunders. The fashionable collaboration will see the launch of a denim range and devore collection which will hit stores in January.

The five piece collection will feature geometric shapes and block colours, there’s perhaps not the greatest selection to choose from, but if you need to get your regular high street/designer fix it’s definitely worth a look in.

For the fashion forward there’s a cropped strapless basque in panelled denim dyed in three different jean colours which you can team with a matching panelled denim pencil skirt. There’s also a black body-con full-length dress, which has a geometric devore grid design that runs down the full length.

On the collection Saunders comments: “My collection for Topshop this season has been inspired by sportswear and workwear, as well as the bold and graphic shapes of the Memphis movement. It’s perfect for urban city dwellers”.

One of Saunders’ trademarks has been his use of traditional silk screening techniques, developing the concept of engineering prints around pattern pieces. Whilst print is still integral to his designs, more recently he has focused on the development of an architectural, clean form, perfectly displayed in his devore jersey pieces for Topshop.
