As the world’s media lap up the sartorial stylings of the some of the most fashionable celebrities, stylists and designers over at New York Fashion Week, on the other side of the globe, Kate Middleton has been making some rather bold fashion statements of her own.
Arriving in Singapore, with Prince William, for the Diamond Jubilee tour of Southeast Asia and the Pacific, earlier this week, Kate has been pictured sporting some rather eclectic and fashion-forward outfit choices. A far cry from her signature LK Benett nude pumps and neutral shift dresses, the Duchess of Cambridge has been toying with all manner of colour, cut and texture, and (finally) extending her wardrobe choices beyond the British high street.
Wearing a modified version of Prabal Gurung’s royal purple (how very apt!) floral digital print dress and black pumps, Kate attended a welcoming ceremony. She looked simply stunning and proved just how easy it is to turn catwalk fashion into elegant, sophisticated and wearable looks.
Returning to fail-safe form, the Duchess then plumped for a broderie anglais white full skirted suit by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen for her visit to Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay.
The only subject taking attention away from her outfit choices, is the question of whether the Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant. At a state dinner, dressed in that Prabal dress, Kate pointedly opted for water over wine. Whilst friends of the couple say there is no secret about the fact that both Kate and Wills are actively trying to start a family. Although looking at her teeny tiny waist in Alexander McQueen we’re doubtful!
