Kate’s Olympic Fashion Sense

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is  serving as an ambassador for the London Olympics, has made it her mission to attend several various events so far- and she looks great doing it! Kate, who we already applaud for her unwavering sense of style, has definitely risen to the occasion when it comes to dressing for the games.

Kate Middleton's Olympic Fashion

Before the Olympics, Kate attended an Olympic-themed exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, where she sported a royal blue Stella McCartney crepe dress. She paired the dress with a gold Olympic-inspired necklace by Cartier featuring five diamond encrusted hoops, which accented it perfectly.

Last Thursday Kate attended a new sports project launch to which she wore a fitted grey and white A-line dress from British design store, Hobbs. The Duchess didn’t let the dress hold her back from getting in on some serious ping pong action, or her slingback heels (which she reportedly took off altogether) from a martial arts exercise. Her dress, said to have been reduced down to just £35 in the sale, looked gorgeous – perfect for a spot of royal table tennis.

For the opening ceremony and palace reception, Kate opted for a custom-made Christopher Kane dress with her much-loved nude pumps and earrings by Kiki McDonough, which she last wore for the Jubilee concert. Prior to  the opening ceremony, Christopher Kane had expressed his desire to see the Duchess in more designer clothing. Well, Mr. Kane, your wish is Kate’s command!

The Duchess of Cambridge waited at Buckingham Palace for the torch whilst sporting a white Team GB Adidas top and a pair of royal blue skinny jeans from Zara. As an ambassador of the games, she appeared to be having an immensely good time, while still maintaining a casual, relaxed vibe.

Earlier this week, Kate cheered on Zara Phillips at the Equestrian event  in her Olympic kit which she spiced up with a cute blue Smythe navy one button blazer, a pair of matching Stuart Weitzman wedges and a Duke on her arm. We think she looked fantastic sitting in the stands, even in her casual wear. Kate donned the very same blazer last summer on her trip to Canada.

When it came time to meet some of Great Britain’s most promising athletes, the Duchess, in a rather humble display of not wanting to outshine the Olympic stars, went with her now signature navy Smythe blazer, and again, Stuart Weitzman cork wedges paired with a striped tee, J Brand jeans and an official Olympic scarf. Upon meeting, the British swimmer Rebecca Adlington made it a point to compliment Kate on her shoes, saying: “I just love her shoes. They’re much nicer than the sports gear we’re wearing this week.”

Most recently at the UK Creative Industries Forum, Kate flaunted a pale grey dress with an asymmetrical neckline by Roksanda Ilincic- the same one she wore in L.A. last year during her royal US tour last year. And might we add, she looked just as fabulous in it this time around as she did last! Although she opted for taupe sueded pumps by LK Bennett on this occasion.

With a little less than two more weeks left in the Olympics, we can’t wait to see what the Duchess’ closet holds in store for us. What do you think about Kate’s Olympic fashion picks?
