London Fashion Week celebrated its 25th birthday today with the beginning of Fashion Week. Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Erin O’Connor, the Vice Chair of London Fashion Week opened the festivities this morning at LFW’s new home Somerset House. This season’s LFW will feature a total of 59 shows over six days with the likes of Matthew Williamson, Burberry and Antonio Beradi all returning to the LFW catwalk with murmurings that Anna Wintour is expected to make an appearance, LFW is tipped to be bigger and better this season.

Paul Costelloe kicked the fashion festivities off this morning with a vibrant look to Spring/Summer 2010. The dress appeared to be the order of the day in candy coloured shades and futuristic shapes with huge bow detailing. To mark the 25th anniversary of LFW, Costelloe chose to showcase his first menswear collection for the event. Costelloe described his collection as ‘ ‘A sophisticated and relaxed summer feeling- a walk by the Tiber in the evening sun- truly La Dolce Vita’.
