It’s a special year for the London fashion scene, as London Fashion week celebrates its 25th birthday next Friday with the beginning of fashion week. London will play host to some of the most fashionable names on the planet with murmurings that fashion Queen herself Anna Wintour might just make an appearance.
To celebrate London’s quarter of a century landmark Elle magazine has commissioned 25 of the most happening designers to create a poster to commemorate the occasion.
The Unique collection of artwork will be unveiled today throughout the capital on the London Underground. The tube has never looked so fashionable with glamorous posters from some of the people who have helped to shape the British fashion industry. Designers to lend their talents include Paul Smith, Christopher Bailey, Matthew Williamson and even Naomi Campbell has put pen to paper.
All 25 images are depicted in a free pull-out poster within the October issue of ELLE and two of the poster designs by Rob Ryan and Antonio Berardi have been chosen for limited edition designer T shirts with a percentage of proceeds going to White Ribbon Alliance. The T-shirts are available to buy from Start Boutique (42-44 Rivington Street, London EC2A 3BN) and at London Fashion Weekend.
