& OTHER STORIES is the high street store, new to the UK by almost exactly a year. It boasts high-end of-the-moment designs paired with beautiful quality. If & Other Stories were a person, it would be a high-flying fashion professional, of the sort that you see endlessly snapped in beautiful fashion week street style montages, enigmatic in their lack of well-known identity, but inherently beautiful because of it. It’s not flashy, it’s not logo-flashing. The designs are always worth their price tag, and they will add quality and luxe to an outfit without screaming a statement. Can you tell we’re a fan?

Needless to say we were all ears when the brand announced its brand new collaboration. Where sister brand H&M turn to well-established designers for their seasonal team-ups, & Other Stories have kept things cool and casual with an association with Swedish singer Lykke Li. Perhaps not as well-known in the UK as she might be in the US, Lykke Li has performed at both Coachella and Glastonbury, and will launch her third album this year.

Her style, perfectly in keeping with the & Other Stories aura, is minimal, understated and elegant in its quality. The range will launch into stores as an autumn collection this year, and will include clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery and accessories.

Of her collaboration Lykke Li has said ‘I’m a nomad and travelled my whole life so my style choices have grown out of pure necessity. I need to travel light but still feel empowered – there’s no space for frills or colours; quality above all! I want to feel strong whether it’s falling out of a tour bus in the early morning, watching the sun rise in Paris or belting my heart out on stage in NYC. It’s been a dream of mine to have the perfect leather sack filled with the bare essentials, like a true nomad ready for business, and & Other Stories gave me that chance. This collection is my version of that lifesaving sack and will be my uniform until the day I die.’

The palette of the collection will be almost entirely monochrome, making them instantly wearable and adaptable to any autumnal outfit combination you may be sporting. We can’t wait until we can take a proper look at it. Until then, get a handle on the Lykke Li style by watching her music video for her acoustic version of ‘Youth Knows No Pain’ below.
