Fashion icon Madonna has once again stepped up as the face of Dolce & Gabbana and has once again been thrown into the centre of Photoshop controversy.  Although her face has not been suffered major Photoshopping, it is obvious that her jaw and nose have been retouched.  Her arms especially, have been noticeably smoothened.

The ads are inspired by the 1962 Italian film Mamma Roma, as the label is trying to get back to their Italian roots with the Sicilian inspired Fall/Winter 2010 collection.

Stefano Gabanna said of the campaign, “We wanted to continue pushing our current message that shows fashion’s more human nature and our heritage.”

However, an airbrushed campaign is not the best comparison to a more ‘human’ side of fashion.
