McQ for Target

McQ for Target

It’s official, Alexander McQueen will launch a limited edition range exclusively for Target. Following in the footsteps of Anya Hindmarch and Proenza Schouler the hotly anticipated collection will hit the stores in March, simply entitled McQ Alexander McQueen for Target.

Target’s Designer Collaborations programme will launch in March, it is aimed to be an ongoing programme that will bring a series of established designers to the masses at low prices. They are also working on the Designer Initiative, which is a separate programme from Target’s Go International. This focuses on young or emerging designers and, in the past, has featured names such as Proenza Schouler, Luella Bartley, Behnaz Sarafpour, Rogan and Richard Chai. Industry sources have estimated that Go International does more than $100 million in annual sales.Trisha Adams, senior vice president of Target said: “Designer Collaborations is another way in which Target brings an emporium of designers to our guests. This specific McQ Alexander McQueen for Target collection does have the potential to skew toward a slightly older guest compared to some of our other designer collections.”

The limited edition McQ Alexander McQueen collection for Target will feature lightweight sweaters, skinny jeans, bubble dresses, slim skirts and cuffed shorts. He’s kept the collection to a palette of neutrals with black, white and grey with a hint of tan or an injection of cobalt blue and pink. Look out for the coated cotton poplin black trench, a rock ’n’ roll grey denim cropped studded jacket and a colour-blocked one-shoulder dress. We can’t wait.
