Coutts London Jewellery Week is fast approaching, and while they’re dusting off their diamonds, we caught up with hot jewellery designer Bex Rox. Since launching in 2006 the brand has gone from strength to strength. She has now been announced as this year’s winner of the Coutts New Jewellers Awards. Read on to see where she gets her inspiration from and what’s up next for the brand.

You started your career as a fashion stylist, what was the turning point to jump to full time jewellery designer?
When I realized that I was getting more inspired from making pieces for shoots than actually getting the looks together.

What has been your biggest inspiration in your latest collection of pieces?
Chinese knotting and lore- the act of knowledge.

Tell us what you would like us to wear your pieces with?
With absolutely EVERYTHING…

What designers do you admire?
Miriam Haskell, Vintage YSL and vintage Chanel for jewellery…

Is there any chance of a collaboration with any other designer to collaborate with them for an accessories line?
Yes but I have to keep my lips sealed for the moment!

If you could, who would you love to work with?
Again hopefully all will be revealed very soon but nada for the moment.

Highlight of your career so far?
One of them is  winning the new jewellers award but I was also immensely inspired by my collaboration with MADE working in Africa with locals from the slums, it was not only eye opening and wonderful  but also it gave me knowledge that there is hope.

What does winning this award mean to you personally and professionally?
It means I have been acknowledged for my design ability. I have been given the guidance to expand my business and also how to protect the brand.

Who have you been most proud to see wear your jewellery?
My friends… they work it and they are my best ambassadors.

Who would you love to see in it?
Anyone who appreciates fun individual jewellery!

What’s in your own wardrobe?
Loads of vintage, silly amounts of fancy dress and sequins!

Make up and Skincare must-haves?
Benetint by benefit, YSL Blue Mascara and Neals Yard Rose Facial Oil and Jasmine Nourishing Cream – they smell divine.

Favourite places in the world…
Menorca where I grew up, Cuba, Indonesia- from sumatra to Bali I LOVE it.

What’s next for you?
That would be revealing too much.
