Although still in the early stages of planning, the Italian knitwear brand Missoni is set to launch a lower-priced line. Regarding the new line, Margherita Missoni has stated that “You need to evolve. If you sit for a moment, you’re not relevant in fashion anymore”.
The news of the new diffusion collection follows last year’s collaboration with the U.S chain Target – which was an instant sell-out. The new line, although somewhat more affordable than the current collections from the design house, are unlikely to imitate the super-low price tags of Target, as Missoni explained, “I don’t think I could put the zigzag on that”.
While Margherita Missoni could not confirm a name or expected date for the new affordable collection, she did reveal that it would be released to coincide with the launch of a new e-commerce site.
