It’s the second week of Cannes and, as usual, the glamorous and trend-setting fashions of the stars have stolen the show on the red carpet.

One star who never fails to amaze is Gwen Stefani, who stepped out to last night’s premiere of The Tree of Life in a black Stella McCartney sequined jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and sheer sleeves. Her trademark pale blond hair contrasted perfectly with the shimmering ensemble, styled in full, soft curls. Bright pink lips and Stefani’s easy confidence were the finishing touches on the fabulously unconventional ensemble.

Zoe Saldana attended the premiere as well – in a decidedly different get-up. Love the shape of her dress, but I can’t help but think it looks more like a Christmas candy cane than haute couture…. At least it matches the carpet, right?

Perhaps the most interesting ensembles seen yet at Cannes were the two worn by Paz Vega this past Sunday. During the day, she chose a one-shouldered black leotard/swimsuit, a string of pearls, and sky-high black pumps… and nothing else. Naturally she attracted confused stares as she strolled the boardwalk, so she draped a long gray sweater around her – but the leotard/swimsuit ensemble remains quite the eccentric choice.

Later that night Vega wore a pale pink Azzaro jumpsuit to the premiere of Pirates of the Carribbean: On Stranger Tides (where Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz also attended). The jumpsuit had jewel-embellished cuffs, a large matching collar, and was cinched in at the waist with a full bow; definitely not your typical Cannes ball gown. The daring star could certainly pull off the trendy look, and she complemented it nicely with classic loose curls and smoky eye makeup.
