Nathan Jenden is set to leave Diane von Furstenberg, the autumn/winter 2010 DVF show in New York will be his last at the helm of the fashion house. Jenden joined the company in 2001 and has helped to put the label on the fashion map.
‘This show is really a celebration of Nathan and I, and of our collaboration,’ Diane told WWD. ‘It’s sad because we’re going apart, but exciting because he is going to do his thing and focus on it.’
Jenden launched his own label in 2006 and is one of the hottest tickets on the London Fashion Week schedule.
‘I am so proud of knowing her,’ Jenden says of Diane. ‘When I first met Diane, not everybody knew her story. We have really developed the brand around Diane and her lifestyle and the spirit of this woman. That brand is established now.’
Von Furstenberg has confirmed that Jenden will be succeeded by Yvan Mispelaere. Who has worked closely with Phoebe Philo at Chloé and Frida Giannini at Gucci, this will be Mispelaere’s first creative director role.
