The fun never stops in New York during fashion week, and with only a few days left, we are still trying to pack in as many shows as possible to make sure we stay on top of what’s hot and what’s not.

Returning to the runway after a break lasting several seasons, Vera Wang came back with a bang. Though her entire collection was in shades of black, we weren’t bored for a minute. She attributed her colour choice to the mystery of youth, but paid homage to her fashion roots by entitling her show The Bride Wore Black. Her looks were elegant and classy, and each one stood out despite their one-hue colour palette.

While Elie Tahari doesn’t often shock us on the runway, that doesn’t mean his clothes won’t make us feel fancy. He said about his line “people want to dress up and look good,” which is obvious from the styles he sent down the runway. Heavy in pantsuits and layers, his line was definitely something I would love to wear around town.

Badgley Mischka mixed it up by dividing their show into two parts. You may remember last year they debuted a second line, called Mark and James, which is less glitzy everyday wear. This collection made up a little more than half of their show, while ball gowns and other glamorous looks made up the rest. Common between both collections were pop-off-the-silhouette flowers and glittery fabrics.

Pamella Roland made us all feel a little luxurious with her Venice inspired line that had a 1920s feel. The night was an exciting one for her, as she is also scheduled to make her QVC debut today, something that she will count on to get the word out about her designs.
