Ever imagined dancing in a designer Disney-inspired princess dress? Erm, of course we have. And so just when you thought you would never get the chance – and your princess-inspired dreams were relegated to childhood memories, Harrods surprises us (as usual).

During Christmas last year, Harrods’ window display, showcased a selection of rather fabulous Disney-inspired gowns. And in a few months, they will be auctioned off for anyone who has the desire – and wallet – to purchase them.

The gowns were created especially for Harrod’s with each style offering a unique interpretation of one of Disney’s most-loved princesses, including Cinderella, Jasmine, and Aurora. And on 13 November at Christie’s, Oscar de la Renta’s magical Snow White gown, Roberto Cavalli’s thigh-slit dress for Pochontas and Missoni’s Mulan outfit will be amongst the ten dresses auctioned, with all profits benefiting Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.

“These exquisite dresses are really one-of-a-kind fashion items from some of the most celebrated and collected designers this century,” says Mark Briggs, store image director at Harrods. “They caused a huge amount of excitement when they were first showcased in the Harrods windows and we’re sure fashion aficionados around the world will be thrilled with the opportunity to own something so utterly unique.”
