Bye-bye Bryant Park, hello to the Lincoln Center and a new, fresh New York Fashion Week. As designers bid farewell to the much beloved site of fashion weeks past, we take a look forward at some of this year’s newcomers.

One of the events that always proves to be fun is the Project Runway finale show. However, it isn’t always the current contestants making a splash, but the alumni as well. Christian Siriano, who took the title back in season four, will again show the fashion world why he is one of New York’s finest, showing his trademark designs, defined by their sheer class and beautiful fabrics. Several of his gorgeous gowns have already made red carpet appearances this award season. Runway’s sixth champion, Irina Shabayeva will also have a show.

Another still up-and-coming designer that many have come to love is Charlotte Ronson. Getting her start dressing friends like Lindsay Lohan and the Hilton sisters, Ronson is known for her adorable, girly yet casual garments. Already making a splash in Japan, the simple structure of her clothes makes them ready-to-wear and extremely popular. We expect Ronson’s show to be packed, and not only with celebrities.

With his line ADAM, designer Adam Lippes made his Fashion Week debut in 2007, and was quickly featured as a member of Vogue’s “The New Establishment.” Using the knowledge he gained from his time with both Polo Ralph Lauren and Oscar De La Renta, he has created a line full of simple and comfortable pieces, which are already being worn by Oprah Winfrey and Kelly Ripa.

While we are excited to see what these and other designer have to offer, not all shows in New York feature the work of one talent. Becoming a much loved tradition is “The Red Dress Project,” part of the Heart Truth campaign. This show features designers from all over dressing actresses, musicians, and even athletes in bright red dresses to raise awareness for heart health. Of course, it isn’t only the models wearing red, as the audience also customarily shows their support by donning their best crimson couture.

New York Fashion Week begins February 11th.
