Trying to compete with all the hype London is creating this season, New York has promised a bigger and better showcase this year. Ending its 15-year run at the traditional venue, Bryant Park, NYFW will soon be moving to the Lincoln Center for next season’s show. This will mark the last show at Bryant Park.

There are a lot of exciting, young American designers ready to show what they’ve got. Alexander Wang, just 24 years old, is on the fast track on the New York fashion scene. He just launched his first collection in 2007 and was nominated for the Swarovski Womenswear Award by Vogue. Wang’s latest collection can only be depicted as classic American chic and cool, dressed in dark colors for a sexy and powerful look.

Keith Lissner, labeled as the next Marc Jacobs, actually trained at the London College of Fashion and moved back to the US in 1998. His style creates a refreshing look for women with soft structures and beautiful silhouettes in black and white with splashes of red.

Stephane Rolland, influenced deeply by architectural design, has risen fast after he established his own couture house a few seasons back.  With last season’s collection of geometric pleats and elegant silhouettes, it’s exciting to see what Rolland has in store for next season.

New York Fashion Week runs from September 10th-17th.
