We wonder what’s left on Olivia Palermo’s bucket list. She must have ticked off pretty much everything a glossy-haired New York socialite could ever dream of by now. Let’s recap. Become a television star? Check. Her stint on The Hills spin-off The City may have portrayed her as a bit of a she-devil in heels, but she came out of it with more media attention and cachet than the show’s central character Whitney Port.
Conquer the fashion world? Yup. She started off at People’s Revolution before heading into PR at Diane Von Furstenberg, and a stint at ELLE Magazine. By then her celebrity status was on the rise and she could afford to concentrate on appearances and parties alone. Her savvy choices and impeccable style meant that she quickly became one of the most sought-after guests at fashion weeks the world over, as well as a fashion authority in her own right after launching her website.
Wed a floppy-haired Armani clothed prince charming? Of course. Her nuptials took place this year, with an intimate family ceremony.
But what about her own line? Funny you should mention that! Her next venture involves her collaborating on a capsule collection with Italian shoe label Aquazzura. It seems her links in the footwear fashion world extend further than we first thought. She already has close personal links with Manolo Blahnik (she wore a pair of the designer’s finest creations for her wedding), and she is also a long-term friend of Aquazzura’s founder Edgardo Osorio.
Of the collaboration Olivia says ‘The Aquazzura aesthetic very much fits my own, so it made sense to collaborate with my good friend Edgardo. I think it is no secret that I love a good shoe, so I very much enjoyed creating a ‘survival pack’ for every occasion and women of all ages’.
The collection will be made up of six pairs of new shoe designs, some jewelled, some metallic, some sandals, some boots. We can’t wait to see more.
