The Chloé S/S Collection

The Chloé S/S Collection

Chloé
Clean and refreshing
would be the best way to describe Chloe’s new S/S 2010 collection. Following the beige trend closely Hannah MacGibbon sent down clean-faced models in flat, leather sandals, with slight boyish silhouettes, but ended the collection with beautiful, flowing sheer beige dresses giving it an ethereal presence.

MacGibbon’s take on the new suit jacket was more roomier and the trousers, slightly slouching. She also presented a series of ponchos with jodhpur-like stirrup pants. All in all the collection was much more casual than previous ones and only the end of the collection echoed the flowing, fluttery part of Chloé we all know and love.

It’s the light and the dark reflected from Riccardo Tisci’s new collection. To be summed up as romantic, cocktail dresses with a hint of darkness. It’s indisputable that Tisci is becoming one of the designers in Paris who matters most and eager buyers will surely snatch his designs up in seconds.

He sent out a fusion of Arabic-French influences, with inspiration drawn from 1960’s optical illusions together with geometric shapes of lines and triangles. But he also gives it softness with an organic feel. Tisci used lots of draping with sheer materials that gave his dresses a baby doll essence, but still very intense.

He sent down drop-crotch harem pants, tiny kilts, bold graphic jackets, and multi-layered, restructured tutus. In his silhouettes he slightly raised the waistline, giving those already tall models even longer legs. And for the shoes it was bondage-like, black leather and beige suede heels along with his unique graphic-design print on his dresses following down onto his shoes.
