Hollywood starlets attending last night’s People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles did not disappoint in the fashion stakes.
From little black leather dresses and flowing white gowns to gilded sequin numbers and the brightest of eye popping fluoros, here are our picks of the best (and most daringly) dressed celebrities;
Top marks for Glee’s Lea Michele and actress Chloe Moretz who shunned classic red-carpet gowns for the most daring fluoro colourways. Lea Michele sported a heavily embellished, semi sheer, lace panelled Elie Saab mini dress, and despite there being a hell of a lot going on, somehow Lea (and her honed, toned and tanned bod) manage to pull it off, give or take those bright pink strappy sandles. Chloe Moretz rocked an even-brighter yellow-highlighter Simone Rocha dress with floral embellishment, paired with black courts.
Gilded and glamorous, Naomi Watts wearing Alexander McQueen and Heidi Klum in Julien MacDonald followed the signature red carpet style in full-length black dresses emblazoned and edged with golden sequins, whilst a newly single Taylor Swift showed Harry Styles just what he was missing in a plunging white Ralph Lauren dress offset by dazzling turquoise drop-earrings.
In a daring leather take on the classic little black dress, Jennifer Aniston, showed that even on the most pilates-honed body, leather should be kept simple and structured. We love the leg-lengthening strappy black sandals and would kill for her body, but we’re not sure the ruffled skater skirt does her any favours. Likewise, the gorgeous Katy Perry, for once didn’t manage to wow us with this more-daywear-than-red-carpet pretty flower-print Valentino number. Meanwhile, disappointingly, Jennifer Lawrence’s Valentino Couture shimmering number seemed to swamp her gorgeous figure, with oversized batwing arms and a not-so-flattering mid-length.
