Designer Bio…

The extraordinary talent of Sarah Burton, beckoned by fate, rather than ambition or ego, to front a major house, is something to love about fashion today.

Raised in a family full of artistic talent, Burton was perfectly groomed to take over the McQueen label with the tragic death of McQueen in 2010. Graduating in 1997 from Print Fashion at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London she contemplated continuing her studies of Fine Art at Ruskin College in Oxford, “but I decided I wanted to pursue my interest in fashion.

We are so glad you did Sarah Burton. As were many people within the brand as Jonathan Akeroyd, president and ceo of Alexander McQueen said:  ”We are delighted that Sarah has agreed to take on the role of creative director. Having worked alongside Lee McQueen for more than 14 years, she has a deep understanding of his vision, which will allow the company to stay true to its core values.” She certainly has. The Fall/Winter collection is something truly inspirational and a continuation of McQueen’s artistic vision. Well done Burton.
