A selection of the designer looks Pudsey can be found sporting.

This month, the BBC has teamed up with twelve of the hottest fashion designers in the business to give the iconic Pudsey Bear a couture makeover!

The partnership is to benefit the BBC’s Children in Need charity, which provides grants to projects in the UK that help disadvantaged youth. The designers include Emma Hill for Mulberry, Erdem, Jonathan Saunders, Alistair Carr for Pringle of Scotland, Katie Hillier, Patrick Grant, PPQ, Henry Holland, Giles Deacon, Liberty, and Louis Vuitton Bear by Kim Jones for Katie Grand.

The bears are decked out in plaid, leather, and floral, and come with crazy-patterened eye patches, including one that’s diamond-studded. A few of the designers have commented on this partnership for a great cause including Giles Deacon, who has said, “I think anything I can do to make a difference to help the lives of children in the UK can only be a good thing.” He used his Spring/Summer 2012 collection as inspiration to turn Pudsey into “a silver leather dream machine,” and although Deacon’s creation may have given Pudsey some major attitude, the designer had nothing but good things to say about the iconic bear. “Pudsey wasn’t as much of a diva as I thought!”

These designer Pudseys are the perfect gift for anyone who loves a cute and cuddly teddy, and by purchasing one of these limited edition bears, you’ll be helping children in need. Get on eBay now and start bidding! You can also visit www.bbc.co.uk/pudsey to see all the designer bears and to read what the designers had to say about their unique creations.

The BBC will also be airing its annual Children in Need Appeal on BBC One beginning at 7pm on 18 November. It will be a night of entertainment “with celebrities singing, dancing, and doing all sorts of crazy things to help raise money.” Guest appearances include One Direction, JLS, The Collective, Tulisa, Rizzle Kicks, Kylie Minogue, Daniel Craig, and The Muppets, just to name a few. Make sure you tune in and help the cause!
