Kate Middleton On Remembrance Sunday

At 11 o’clock yesterday, the nation fell silent  in remembering members of the Armed Forces who have died in conflict. The Queen was joined at the Cenotaph memorial in London by the Duke of Edinburgh, Prime Minister David Cameron and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Prince William looked regal dressed in his RAF uniform as he laid a Remembrance Sunday wreath on the memorial. While the Duchess looked on from a balcony alongside the Countess of Wessex and the Princess Royal’s husband Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Lawrence.

Kate Middleton in the same Diane von Furstenberg Coat in 2011

Kate Middleton looked solemn in head-to-toe black, donning the same 2008 coat by Diane von Furstenberg that the she wore to last year’s Remembrance Sunday service. The double breasted coat is 100% wool and features a detachable trim of “soutache” on the collar and cuffs, a kind of braiding usually reserved for Military uniforms, adding a touch of glam to the understated piece.

Kate Middleton’s Philip Treacy Repeat

The Duchess accessorized with a Phillip Treacy hat, the very same Phillip Treacy number she for William’s passing out ceremony at Sandhurst back in 2006. In comparison to last year’s Jane Corbett design, the Treacy hat is simpler with a single black bow, rather than  an elaborate twist. Kate’s hair is also notably less full in comparison to her bouncing curls in 2011.

Topping off the look, was a beautiful 18-carat gold plated poppy brooch featuring red and black crystals. The brooch is available in-store at Marks & Spencer and online at poppyshop.org.uk.
