So Long Skyscrapers (continued…)

Kat Maconie - £110

The kitten has by no means replaced the skyscraper, but according to some, and only some, the feline shoe, the clog, the cowboy boot and our other mid-heeled friends need no longer suffer in solitude at the back of the wardrobe.

It is a trend that is dividing the fashion elite firmly into two camps: US Vogue editor Anna Wintour has been smitten with the kitten for quite some time, but Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo president, thinks they are not sexy enough. So will you be dressing your feet up or down? Are you on the ‘so wrong it’s right’ or the ‘just so wrong’ team?

Kat Maconie - £120

For many, it will be a welcome shift. Not all of us can totter, teeter and trip (we’ve all done it) in killer heels all day everyday. It can get tiresome, not to mention embarrassing.

Eley Kishimoto Flash Print Trainer - £85

I’m not going to be giving up my sky-high heels altogether: they do have a certain ‘je ne sais quois’ that even the prettiest kitten can’t compete with. But I am most definitely a supporter of this comfort revolution. If anything, it means we have even more to play with in the shoe department, and yes, I think that means we can justify a few more pairs! They are, after all, a ‘sensible’ purchase.

Check out these modest heels and oh-so sensible flats. For all you fragile footed souls out there, make note now: Kat Maconie work with orthopedic insoles so her pumps and midis are not only a treat for your toes, but extra comfortable. Fashion and function at its best.

All these pieces are available at the My Sugarland boutique, which can be found at 402-404 St John’s Street,  ECIV 4NJ.
