Spooky Jewels

Delfina Delettrez of Fendi family fame (fourth-generation) creates jewellery for “women with a strong character and a sense of humour.” The 20-year-old released her three most recent collections in just less than a year. “Delirium,” is the very latest, and even more whimsical - with a strong focus on the human body, particularly on eyes and lips. Delettrez’s influence from Tim Burton films like “Corpse Bride” and “Nightmare before Christmas” is clearly captured in her pieces with eyes that mimic Sally’s in the “Nightmare before Christmas.”
Other pieces include rings with a frog prince, a snake climbing up your finger, lips with fangs that sit across two fingers, and a bat whose wings spread across three fingers. The creepiest piece by far is a silver ring with a bony finger, rumoured to come with a bottle of nail polish so you can paint the ring’s fingernail (but, of course).
Don’t get us wrong though; there are plenty of rings and necklaces with lovely lips sans fangs. If the collection still sounds too creepy-crawly, that latest of her pieces coming out of her father’s workshop in Rome are said to be rather charming and much softer- their influence found in the birth of Delettrez’s daughter Emma.
