The Fashion Fund

The Fashion Fund

Anna Wintour, Condé Nast’s artistic director and editor in chief of Vogue, is set to star in ‘The Fashion Fund’, a TV production that will follow the annual selection process for the winners of the CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund which looks to support the next generation of American fashion designers. A committee of industry experts, including Anna Wintour, select the final recipients of the fund based on the talent they have already demonstrated and their future potential.

The yearly winners of these award are prized with business mentoring from an established team of industry professionals who will guide them through all aspects of fashion designing, from production, exporting, marketing, sourcing and business planning. One overall winner will receive $300,000 to kick start their career, and two runners up will receive $100,000.

The series will be made up of six hour-long episodes that will air on the US television channel, Ovation TV, on 22nd January at 10pm.

Joining Anna Wintour on the judging panel will be the likes of Council of Fashion Designers of America president Diane von Furstenberg, J. Crew president Jenna Lyons, Theory cofounder Andrew Rosen, and fashion director of Neiman Marcus, Ken Downing.

There is as of yet, no news of the TV series airing in the UK, so if you are due to be stateside for a little time this season, make sure you give it a watch! Otherwise we’re keeping our fingers cross for it to hit our TV screens soon.

To launch the show, Vogue are hosting a cocktail party tonight at Toro, a restaurant New York’s Chelsea. We might not be able to nip over there to get you the latest news from the show ourselves, but here’s a little video to give you a taster of what is to come…
