Clear your coffee table and dust down the book shelf as Kate: The Kate Moss Book will be heading to bookstores later this year and you’ll want to ensure it holds pride of place.
Somewhat surprisingly, despite her loyal fashion-following, compilations of the enigmatic model’s life and career have strangely been few and far between, with the most notable being Taschen’s Kate Moss as shot by Mario Testino. The launch is made even more enticing, if that is at all possible, in light of it being the elusive (until recent years Kate straight-up refused to give interviews) model’s ex Jefferson Hack who has edited the tomb.
Hack, as Editor in Chief of Another Magazine, and one of the world’s most acclaimed image makers, may well have a particularly discerning eye for imagery, but we’d find it pretty darn creepy having an ex create a picture book of us. But then again, it’s just yet another example of the don’t-give-a-damn rock’n’roll cool that Moss is famed for.
The book itself is set to be a retrospective of her work, and has been coined as
“a highly personal and complete retrospective of Kate Moss’s career, illustrating her evolution from girl to supermodel to photographic icon, created by Moss herself.”
With a hand in the project, Moss has ensured that the edit is thorough, with shots from her famous The Face shoot with Corinne Day to advertising campaigns, high-fashion editorials and high-street collaborations.
