Long have icons like Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, and Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen been front row fixtures of major runway shows. This year’s Fashion Week, however, ushered in a new crowd of models, celebrities and musicians, giving the usual fashion figures a run for their money (and front row seat).

Rising actors and actresses made up the majority of Fashion Week front rows worldwide. Rooney Mara and Emma Stone cozied up to each other at Calvin Klein Collection in NYC, while actresses Viola Davis, Shailene Woodley and Kate Mara were also spotted in the front row for the Empire State’s Fashion Week.

A number of musicians nabbed a front row seat this year, including Kanye West, Rihanna, a blue-haired Katy Perry, and Lana Del Rey, who not only inspired a new Mulberry bag but also performed at the Mulberry after party in London.

Daughters of legendary musicians stormed the Paris Fashion Week front rows, including Theodora Richards and Tali Lennox. Meanwhile in London, Downton Abbey stars Michelle Dockery and Laura Carmichael took the front row at Mulberry, joining stars Tom Hiddleston and Michelle Williams. Elizabeth Olsen was a front row regular, creating competition with her twin sisters for most stylish Olsen.

It-girls Leigh Lezark, Poppy Delevigne, Pixie Geldof, and Clemence Poesy regularly sat front row at shows everywhere from London to Paris. Other prominent front row figures included Jessica Alba, Salma Hayek and the ever-lovely Dita Von Teese.

Of course the usual fashion fixtures like Alexa Chung, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, and Olivia Palermo could be spotted among the newcomers, but overall, this years Fashion Week introduced a fresh crowd of couture characters.

Who’s your favourite new fashion face hitting the shows?
