The Return Of The IT Bag

After years spent saving, spending and then dodging every fifth girl in the street who was toting around the very same, erm, tote, we thought we were well and truly over the ‘it’ bag. We turned to off-beat, one of a kind thrift store finds, under-the-radar designer purchases and resolutely switched the focus from the crux of our arms down to the soles of our feet.

But then something transformative happened in the accessories world – blame it on Alexander Wang’s tough-luxe Rocco complete with gold toned studs and pebbled leather, the wear-with-everything stylings and multi tab, adjustable and pouch-led functionality of  Mulberry’s Alexa or even the decadent but deliciously minimal Givenchy Antigona – and we were catapulted back to our handbag habit.

And as the world’s most luxurious labels joined the beautifully styled, immaculately leathered ranks of Wang, Givenchy and Mulberry, we have since been inundated with some of the most covetable, and costly, carry-all accessories that we’ve seen in years.

So, as autumn approaches we’ve rounded up an armful of our favourites, from the heavily textured Falabella and the keep-for-your-daughter Primrose to Le Dix, Alexander Wang’s very first, super sleek, Balenciaga creation.
