It was last year that we all learned of the new shoe and bag collection that would be launched by Sarah Jessica Parker, famed for her portrayal of fictional accessories queen Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City. Only a select few were privileged enough to have a peak at the designs during New York Fashion Week, otherwise the debut collection has been shrouded in mystery. Until now.

Racked magazine this week divulged the design of one shoe from the collection. The ‘Diana’, a black patent leather pointed-toe stiletto that will retail at $395. According to Racked, the new line will feature a number of styles, from classic pumps to colourful espadrilles and of course heels. Sarah Jessica Parker was quoted as saying that ‘Carrie’s love of shoes meant I got to wear hundreds of pairs – and the more I wore, the more I realised that they are often the starting point of the style choices we make. Sometimes in fashion, little else matters but the shoe’.

With such fondness for her footwear, we can expect some first class style and variation in the upcoming collection. The line will be named ‘SJP’. Rather prestigiously, the range involves a partnering with George Malkemus, the long term CEO at Manolo Blahnik. The Blahnik influence is particularly visible in this first seen design. Remember the Mary Jane Manolos Carrie seizes upon during her first visit to the Vogue fashion cupboard? Pretty similar no?

The full range is due to launch towards the end of February this year in Nordstrom in the US, with prices ranging from $200 to $400.
