The buzz word in New York yesterday was ‘Topshop’, as the high street chain finally opened its doors to the residents of  NYC. Kate Moss joined Philip Green in the unveiling, wearing a beautiful emerald green, floor-length Grecian dress from the new collection, which she covered up with a leather biker jacket from her previous Autumn/Winter Topshop collection.

Hoards of hungry fashion fans queued outside to get a glimpse of Miss Moss as she was showered in confetti alongside Topshop Boss Sir Philip Green as they opened the store.

The eagerly anticipated store on Broadway has 200 workers, 32 changing rooms, a DJ booth and a shoe lounge, it’s the ultimate fashions fan’s Mecca. Following the opening success of Topshop, Sir Phillip has revealed further plans to extend the chain stateside, he said: ‘I think we have something to bring to the market place in terms of great products. We are going to be very fashion-led here. We hang a $500 dress 30ft away from two-for-$18 T-shirts. It’s different. Some things we will get right, some we will get wrong, but we need to understand the model. I would like to think we could have 12 to 15 flagship stores. I would like this to be the platform for the next stage of our development.”

First stop New York, next stop world domination! It’s a Topshop take over!
