Cinnamon Kitchen

The Cinnamon Kitchen is the sister restaurant to the renowned Cinnamon Club, which is set in an old library and can be a bit, well, like a library… However the Cinnamon Kitchen is more like its naughty little sister, set in Devonshire Square, where you can play crazy golf and enjoy the open-plan restaurant that has a great atmosphere and a really lively bar called Anise.

I am a real sucker for Indian food. But real Indian food that is exciting and beautifully spiced, not a strange, nuclear orange, creation swimming in oil with a protein of your choice.

The food at the Cinnamon Kitchen was rocking. I tried the new canapé tasting menu; four courses of four mouth watering canapés, each accompanied by a glass of bubbles. Well what else should one drink with a canapé? I loved the tuna and salmon civiche. The fish was beautifully fresh and burst with all the wonderful flavours of sweet mango and sour lime. Also the yogurt cake and fruit chaat was amazing. Now this may sound like a bit of a wierd one, yogurt cake, but believe me it wasn’t. The yogurt was so rich and bursting with flavour from the spices… In fact I want all yogurt to be like this!

I also had a cheeky lemongrass and chilli cooler, which was the perfect accompaniment, with the bubbles of course, to such an excellent meal.

The wonderful Canapé Menu, runs until the end of the month, and costs £30 a head or £60 with bubbles and is well worth it.

If you are heading that way on the 15th September, from 6pm – 8.30pm, you will be able to get a load of fashion, beauty and style tips, mini makeovers and discounted Benefit cosmetics from Anise bar to help you get prepared for London Fashion Week.
